لما أصابته الجراح نكل فعاتب نفسه فشجع فاستشهد يومئذ وكان أحد الأمراء بمؤتة فدخل الجنة فشرى على قومه وكانت مؤتة في جمادى الأولى سنة ثمان من الهجرة
