فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ خَالِي أَبُو بُرْدَةَ بْنُ نِيَارٍ ، فَقَالَ : أَنَا عَجَّلْتُ ذَبْحَ شَاتِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لِيُصْنَعَ لَنَا طَعَامٌ نَجْتَمِعُ عَلَيْهِ إِذَا رَجَعْنَا ، وَعِنْدِي جَذَعَةٌ مِنْ مَعْزٍ ، هِيَ أَوْفَى مِنَ الَّذِي ذَبَحْتُ ، أَفَتُغْنِي عَنِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، وَلَنْ تُغْنِيَ عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ "
